“The more we can cultivate curiosity and compassion towards ourselves, the more we can heal our wounds.” - Richard C. Schwartz, Ph.D

When I meet with couples, I often ask them about their first big argument. That first big argument can reveal a lot about our search for love, safety and wholeness, which can go all the way back to our childhood.

When we can identify these deep seated wounds and deficits, we can begin to heal both personally and relationally. I love working with couples as they step back and identify both their frustrations and desires, and then work as a team to meet these needs.

As the father of a young son, I have a vested interest in working with men to develop the full spectrum of emotion that was often taken from us as children. When those of us who identify as male can bring our whole selves into our relationships, so much can shift and transform quickly.

I have spent the past nine years of my career developing leadership and spirituality programming within the healthcare industry. I have also served as a spiritual director, or spiritual companion, to individuals and couples within a corporate setting and private practice. When appropriate, I will incorporate this spiritual element into my work with couples.

Sometimes we have blindspots which are standing in the way of our personal and relational healing, which is why I incorporate the Enneagram into my practice. My approach to Enneagram incorporates Richard Schwartz’s Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, which I refer to as our Inner Archetypes.  When we understand our Inner Archetypes, we are presented with a pathway for healing ourselves and, in the process, our relationships.

My wife and I just celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. I consider my marriage one of the greatest gifts of my life, which is why it is such an honor to work with couples who are ready to engage in deep inner work while staying in relationship with one another.

My wife and I raise chickens on a tiny urban farm in North Central Austin with our daughters and son ages 19, 16 and 5.
