Roy is here to help you explore ways to look at the troubles confronting you, and work with you to develop new ways to approach them. By using a variety of therapeutic approaches to look at your feelings and emotions, your thoughts, or how you have previously responded to situations of difficulty, he will work with you to help you rethink or reprocess life events in alternative and more beneficial ways. Jill offers sexual health psychotherapy to couples and individuals in traditional and non-traditional relationship styles. She focuses on reducing sexual shame and de-stigmatizing sexual behavior. She helps people restore intimacy, sexual spark, gain communication skills and find peace in committed relationships. She also focuses on divorce and infidelity recovery, reconnection for couples who have experienced trauma, infidelity, loss or simply the business of everyday life that has caused them to disconnect. Linda offers a collaborative approach to working with her clients and tailors her work to each individual and couple she sees at RCC Austin. She is dually licensed as a professional counselor intern and as a marriage and family therapist associate. Linda is trained in EMDR Therapy and uses this approach in her work with clients who have experienced traumatic life events. Linda is also experienced in working with clients with substance abuse disorders, addiction, and addiction recovery. She has completed Gottman Level 1 training and uses the method as a foundational approach to her work with couples. No matter the problems that brings clients to the therapy room, Sarah focuses on providing a safe, non-judgmental environment for clients to regroup, reflect, and tackle their issues. Utilizing her systems-based training with a collaborative stance towards therapy, Sarah does not see individuals as "the problem," but rather a piece in a much larger puzzle and works with her clients to find new ways of perceiving, and thus resolving, their struggles. When you first meet Carlene, you will understand why she is good at her work as a counselor. She is calm, grounded, and present to her clients. She will immediately put you at ease with her smile and genuine concern for you. Carlene's work focuses on relationship and couples counseling, teen counseling, and family counseling. She works with couples using proven couples therapy methodologies to help bring healing into relationships. She employs EMDR Therapy and Somatic Experiencing Therapy in her work with individuals and couples with trauma histories. She also counsels teenagers and their parents, as well as parents of younger children using her training in the Positive Discipline Parenting Approach, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
When you call our office during daytime office hours, you will most likely hear the friendly voice of Alicia Harms answer the phone. Alicia serves as Scheduling Coordinator and Office Ringleader for the Relationship Counseling Center of Austin, keeping all things running smoothly for our office and clinicians. Alicia is a native of California and holds a BA in Radio, TV, and Film from California State University, Fullerton. In her spare time you might find Alicia on the hunt for the best salsa and chips in Austin, hiking local trails with her dog, Indigo, or curled up with a good book in hand.
Janie McMahan founded the Relationship Counseling Center of Austin (RCC Austin) to provide affordable, high quality counseling services to the Austin and surrounding community, while also providing a private practice setting to give clinically supervised graduate interns the opportunity to launch their professional careers.
Janie realized her long-time dream of becoming a counselor in private practice following early careers in public policy and higher education academic administration. She has been in the private practice of psychotherapy in Austin for almost six years and maintains her own private practice, as well being the director of RCC Austin.
